1. Introduction

The Student Referral Program (the “Referral Program”) is offered exclusively to current students and alumni (collectively referred to as the “Referrer”) of New West College. By participating in the Referral Program, participants agree to comply with the terms and conditions set forth in this document.

2. Eligibility

2.1 The Referrer must be a current student or alumnus/alumna of New West College in good standing.
2.2 The individual being referred (the “Referral”) must be new to New West College, must not have been previously enrolled, registered, or in contact with the College within the preceding twelve (12) months, and must not already exist in the College’s internal database.
2.3 This Referral Program applies only to diploma or certificate programs. Referrals for micro-courses or other short-format offerings are excluded.

3. Referral Submission Process

3.1 All referrals must be submitted using the official referral form prior to the referred individual applying or initiating contact with New West College.
3.2 The referred student must identify the Referrer by providing their full name, contact information, and student ID if requested, at the point of application.

4. Successful Referral Criteria

4.1 A referral is considered successful once the referred student enrolls as a full-time student in an eligible program and,
4.2 The referred student must complete a minimum attendance period of forty-five (45) days or six (6) weeks from the program intake date, remain in good academic standing, and be current with coursework.
4.3 The referred student must be in good financial standing and must have made their first tuition payment.

5. Rewards and Payment

5.1 Upon satisfaction of all eligibility criteria, the Referrer will receive a referral reward of $1,000 for each valid referral.
5.2 Payment will be issued by EFT within seven (7) days of the referred student meeting the program requirements.
5.3 All referral payments are non-transferable.
5.4 New West College reserves the right to apply the referral reward toward any outstanding tuition balances or to arrange alternative methods of payment at its discretion.

6. Limits and Priority

6.1 There is no limit to the number of referrals a Referrer may submit unless otherwise stated by the College.
6.2 In cases where multiple Referrers submit the same Referral, priority will be given to the referral received first, based on the timestamp recorded on the official referral form.

7. Disqualification

7.1 Referrals will be disqualified if they involve self-referral, duplicate student accounts, or retroactive additions after a student has already applied.
7.2 Fraudulent or malicious activity, including the submission of false information or spam, will result in immediate disqualification.
7.3 Referrals will be deemed invalid if the referred student withdraws prior to completing the required minimum attendance period.

8. Program Modifications

New West College reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Referral Program at any time and without prior notice. Such changes shall be at the sole discretion of the College.

9. Privacy and Consent

All personal information collected during the referral process will be managed in accordance with Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), and with New West College’s Privacy Policy. By submitting a referral, the Referrer confirms that the referred individual has provided consent to being contacted by New West College.

10. Liability and Governing Law

By participating in the Referral Program, both the Referrer and the Referral release New West College and its staff from any liability, costs, or disputes arising from participation in the program. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the applicable laws of Canada.

11. Acceptance of Terms

By submitting a referral or enrolling through a referral, all parties acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions in full.

12. Tax Sips

Please note all referrers shall be issued T4A for any referral payments received during the year.
