Withdrawal Policy

A student withdrawal can be initiated by the student or the institution for various reasons. Regardless, both forms of withdrawals must be communicated in writing to be effective.

Types of Withdrawals

1. Student Initiated Withdrawal

A student can request a withdrawal for various reasons. Regardless of the reason, the student must formally request a withdrawal in writing, whether via email or correspondence, for the withdrawal request to be considered.

Upon receipt of the withdrawal request, an institution representative will confirm the withdrawal depending on the circumstances and send the student a confirmation of withdrawal via email. A withdrawal form will also be attached, as well as, sent to the student for signature.

In this case, the student’s effective withdrawal date shall be the date the withdrawal was requested.

2. College Initiated Withdrawal

The College can initiate a student withdrawal for multiple reasons. The three primary reasons include, if a student:

  • Has missed five consecutive class days without contacting the institution, to provide a reasonable excuse. In this case, the effective date of the withdrawal shall be the first ofthe five days that the student was absent.

  • With a reasonable excuse is absent more than 30 consecutive days. In this case, the date of the withdrawal shall be the first day during this period that the student was absent; and

  • Has excessive absences that will prevent them from successfully completing their program within the scheduled study period. In this case, the date of the withdrawal shall be the last day that the student was in attendance.

If such a situation exists, an institution representative will confirm the withdrawal depending on the circumstances and send the student a confirmation of withdrawal via email. A withdrawal form will also be attached, as well as, sent to the student for signature.

For students who are eligible for tuition refunds, the effective date of withdrawal will impact the amount of refund a student receives. Please see Tuition Refund Policy for further details.
