The Opportunity:
Are you a student looking for an exciting opportunity that is full of meaningful, diverse, and ambitious assignments working alongside industry leading professionals in the diverse world of Supply Chain? If so, we have a variety of positions for you! Our Commercial Operations team has multiple excellent opportunities to work in a fast-paced team environment and gain supply chain management and commercial experience through a variety of assignments and special projects.
You will be a valuable member of one of the teams working with and contributing to a variety of areas, such as Procurement, Contracts, Process & Continuous Improvement, Inventory, or Business Analytics. You will develop your skills and add value while also having the chance to meet other students and partake in initiatives such as the Intern Social Committee and other corporate initiatives.
Job location: Calgary, AB - Head Office
Shift schedule: 5 days on, 2 days off, 8 hours/day (Monday - Friday)
Multiple term lengths: 4, 8 or 12 months
Term starts: January or May 2026
Key Accountabilities:
Participate in strategic sourcing efforts (RFIs and RFPs) to award contracts to best total value suppliers
Take part in negotiation strategies that support and deliver cost, delivery, and business value for Canadian Natural
Assist to develop sustainable supply chain strategies through market research, needs analysis, and commercial risk analysis
Support contract administration activities, including data analysis, maintaining meeting minutes, following up on action items, and assisting in the contract close out process
Coordinate with business partners to ensure the right material is delivered at the right time, at the right price, and to the right place
Procure materials and services to support business operating requirements, ensuring efficient delivery to end-customer locations
Develop inventory strategies that optimize inventory investment while meeting operational goals
Participate in new technology assessments, selections, implementations, and continuous improvements initiatives
Perform data mining and modeling to meet agreed to reporting requirements
Support users and application developers in creating Business Intelligence reports and visualizations that provide actionable information to decision makers
What You Bring to The Role:
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Information Systems, Operations Management or similar programs
Business mindset with a daily focus on continuous improvement
Highly organized and detail oriented
Effective with time management and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail
Utilizes a structured approach for problem solving
Effective interpersonal skills to interface with internal and external stakeholders
Demonstrated ability to adapt and respond to the changing environment
The following are considered assets:
Awareness of the fundamentals of buying, contract development/formation and contract administration
Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Excel, Python, R, SQL, etc.

Shift: Monday to Friday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Wage: $17.50/hour
The Order Picker is responsible for accurately fulfilling customer orders destined to be delivered to our customer’s stores.Accurately pick with an RF gun and place necessary quantities into boxes with a cart or a hand jack.
Verify that appropriate product is picked to meet customer order requirements.
Adhere to customer order requests; special packing requirements / special label requirements / special staging requirements.
Audit and adjust picked inventory as necessary.
Communicate pick location inventory discrepancies.
Meet predetermined KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) without compromising accuracy/ health and safety.
Maintain an organized work area; remove cardboard boxes/ trash as necessary throughout the course of the workday.
Adhere to all security SOPs to ensure the security of the warehouse and the client’s product.
Other duties as assigned.
HEALTH & SAFETY:
Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act including Safety, Violence and Harassment laws
Work in a healthy and safe manner following Metro’s policies, procedures
Always wear or use protective equipment
Report any hazards you find in the workplace to your supervisor
Must not use or operate equipment in a manner that would endanger yourself or others
Must not put other workers at risk by your actions
EXPERIENCE:
At least 1 year warehouse experience in a warehouse as an order selector
Experience with a RF scanner is an asset
CORE COMPETENCIES:
Proven communication both written and verbal in English
Must be capable of sitting, standing, lifting and walking for extended periods of time
Ability to follow directions
Service orientated with strong customer interaction skills and commitment
Good mathematical skills
